STAB & Trail Representative
Jim Lyall is the designer of Ascutney’s Mountain Bike Trail Network and co-founder of Sports Trails of Ascutney Basin. Jim fell in love with the area when he was attending Dartmouth College then moved to Brownsville with his wife Carol in 1977 where they raised two daughters, McKay and Jenna.
Before retiring himself and his business, Jim spent 35 years as a design partner for a local residential design and building company. Now crafting in a new way, Jim has carefully constructed over 50 miles of biking trails, all which meet sustainable standards according to the International Mtn. Bike Association. Involved with everything community, Jim has served on West Windsor’s Planning Commission, Conservation Commission and most recently as the trail rep and secretary for the Town Forest Committee.
Jim is an ardent mountain biker and zealous telemark and back-country skier, not to mention a well-known humorist, mapmaker, and B movie maker. Jim is the mastermind behind the poetic verses touting the Tuesday Night Rides and when he’s at the helm of a ride or ski you are certain to be in for an unforgettable and amusing adventure.
