Marty is a Connecticut native who retired to Vermont in 2007 after a 35-year career in Economic Development. She worked at local and state levels before co-founding the State’s first non-profit economic-development marketing and research organization, which she led for 12 years as CEO. Her love of horses drew her to the West-Windsor area due to its proximity to the Green Mountain Horse Association. In 2009, she was appointed GMHA’s executive director, a position she held for four years. During her tenure, she helped GMHA get back on its feet after being devastated by Hurricane Irene; she also managed a major investment to improve the organization’s cross country course.
During these years, Marty also established Cowshed Cabin Farm, a horse and rider vacation business, at her property on Cowshed Trail, which is now in its 11th year of operation.
She has three grown children and four grandchildren.
Joining the Ascutney Outdoors board in the spring of 2017, Marty shares the group’s excitement about AO’s potential to drive economic growth in West Windsor, and across the region through the work of the board and its many supporters.
