The Ascutney Outdoors Legacy Fund was created in 2021 with contributions from several local families. We welcome contributions and bequests to the Fund, which is managed by the Vermont Community Foundation. Bequests to the Fund support the long-term sustainability of Ascutney Outdoors and our mission of bringing vitality to our community.
The most popular forms of bequests include:
- A gift through your Will. Gifts by will or trusts are an easy and powerful way to support Ascutney Outdoors. A bequest can be made in the form of a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the remainder of an estate.
- A gift of retirement plan assets or life insurance. Designate the Ascutney Outdoors Legacy Fund as a remainder beneficiary of your IRA, 401(k), other qualified retirement plan, or your life insurance policy. It’s easy to do – and in many cases you can make your designation online. If you are taking your required minimum distribution, the IRA charitable rollover allows you to give up to $100,000 annually tax-free.
In addition, we are able to offer advanced estate planning options through our partnership with the Vermont Community Foundation. These include the management of Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts, which provides an annual income source for the duration of your lifetime, after which the the annuity is gifted to Ascutney Outdoors. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss these matters or see the Vermont Community Foundation for more information.
